The Creative Director for The Old Republic, Charles Boyd, has recently been answering Lore questions on Twitter. Here’s what he had to say!
Currently no plans for another timeskip like that 🙂

Alive and retired!

I guess we’ll find out later when the Inquisitor meets Anathel 🙂

There is no “canonical” choice of player character.

Sorry, not talking about anything beyond 5.10 for the time being 🙂 At this point, nothing has changed for the Mandos; they follow Shae, and Shae fights with the Alliance. That could change in the future, but nothing new to reveal as yet.

Like you say, the shifting of galactic factions could lead to Shae seeking a change, or if not her, then some of the Mandos following her… but it hasn’t happened as of 5.10, and we’re not quite ready to talk future story stuff yet 🙂

Their story will be told; they just aren’t involved with the Ossus colony. Doc may give some tiny hints though 😉

He also made a Twitter Thread discussing roleplay and how roleplayers shouldn’t necessarily take his word as the law. TLDR…
take my answers as the off-the-top-of-my-head information they are, and use, modify, or ignore them as you like when roleplaying.
Here’s the thread in full.
It’s our job on SWTOR to tell an ongoing story; thus, many details of how the galaxy works are nailed down directly in the storyline. Other details are things we have in mind, but aren’t shown directly. That 2nd category is the kind of stuff I usually speak to here. 2/6

I do my best to minimize this in my answers; that’s why I tend to speak in general trends & likelihoods, not “this is the only thing that ever happens, the end”. I’m 100% supportive of roleplayers deviating from the established facts of our storyline if they want to. 4/6

So please, take my answers as the off-the-top-of-my-head information they are, and use, modify, or ignore them as you like when roleplaying. And above all, be awesome to each other! Supportive, welcoming, and encouraging communities are what make games like SWTOR great 🙂 6/6
