WildStar – State of the Universe

Pappy recently published a new State of the Universe for the start of 2018. Basically, he reiterated what had happened in WIldStar throughout 2017 and thanked the player base for their ongoing support.

He also emphasised that Carbine and NCSOFT are continuing to support the game for the foreseeable future. We can expect to hear about new content for the game sometime soon.

Hey everyone!

I’d like to start this State of the Universe by giving a shout-out to our incomparable WildStar community. Throughout last year you’ve shown the passion, dedication, and excitement that has made Nexus one of the most welcoming and inclusive planets in the galaxy. Whether through supporting new players during the Power of the Primal Matrix update and our Free 50 Frenzy earlier in the year, running your own community-driven events, or by creating incredible environments during our Community Showdown contest, you continue to be the most important part of our ongoing adventure.

It’s hard to believe that 2017 is already in the books—and what a year it was! We started it out with the Power of the Primal Matrix update; which not only brought a brand new max-level progression system to WildStar, but also a new dungeon (Coldblood Citadel), a new Expedition (Evil From the Ether), and Prime difficulty levels (with better lootz!) for some of our existing content.

Soon afterward, we introduced Prime Raids to WildStar—which added even greater challenges and rewards beyond Redmoon Terror. We followed that up with the Homecoming update, where we presented the long-awaited Communities feature—groups of people can now create and customize entire neighborhoods of player housing—as well as holding a huge contest for it, and added the new Residential Renovation in-game event to support it. And, finally, we concluded the year with Primetime, which was a veritable smorgasbord of delicious Prime content, including Genetic Archives Prime 1, and Prime difficulty offerings for the rest of our dungeons and expeditions.

All of this came alongside our ongoing in-game events and holiday celebrations—like Shade’s Eve, the zPrix Invitational, and Protostar’s Gala Winterfest Extravaganza!—making 2017 a memorable and fun year for WildStar fans around the world.

Which brings us to some of your questions about WildStar’s future. I’ve said this before, and I’ll say it again: Carbine and NCSOFT are continuing to support the game for the foreseeable future. It has a vibrant and imaginative community, and we want to make sure that all of you can continue to experience everything that planet Nexus has to offer. With that in mind, you can expect the same line-up of fun in-game events and holiday celebrations that you’ve enjoyed in years past.

Bottom line? WildStar is—and will continue to be—an amazing place to spend your time collecting, building, and adventuring.

As always, I want to thank all of the dedicated WildStar players who continue to make our game amazing. This is going to be another great year, and we’re looking forward to sharing it with you!

I’m personally hoping we’ll see a continuation of the Story this year and/or even a new Zone to explore! What new content would you like to see in WildStar?
