Game Update 5.10 258 Crafted Gear Guide

Here’s a Guide to crafting the new 258 Gear. One of the main ways to get 258 Gear is via crafting (but is available through other means). Here is how you can go through the long process to craft your own set of 258 gear.

Note 258 Weapons (Mainhands and Offhands) will not be available in Game Update 5.10. They will be released early next year in conjunction with new group content.

Basics

In order to be able to craft 258 gear, you’re going to have to do a variety of content. However, the primary source of mats and schematics for crafting 258 gear comes from NIM Gods of the Machine. The Ossus Dailies will also be a source of gear and mats.

All the crafted gear is moddable and has set bonuses. However, all mods and enhancements are now bound to the type of armour (like armourings have been for a long time). This means, if you crafted some boots, you can only put the mods and enhancements in boots, you can not put them into Legs, for example.

Once you craft yourself a set of the new gear, you can reverse engineer the mod and enhancements for a 60% chance to get their schematics.

Mats and How to Get Them

A few different types of new and existing mats are required to craft 258 Gear. You will have to do a variety of content to acquire them.

Note all the new mats being introduced can be sold on the GTN.

Relics of Ossus

There is a weekly cap of Relics of Ossus you can earn per week, per character, of 250. Doing the dailies, heroics and weekly on Ossus, can earn you 148 Relics of Ossus in one day.

Here is how many Relics of Ossus you get from completing the Ossus Dailies.

Ossun Assembly Components

Ossun Assembly Components are a mat that is crafted. Depending on your Crafting Profession, different mats are required to craft them. You can buy the schematic for the Ossun Assembly Component from any Crafting Trainer.
